This lush province is the guardian of two World Heritage Sites, one preserving the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park, one of the last and most fascinating wilderness and marine areas in southern Africa, and the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, within the mountain range that dominates the western edge of the Zulu Kingdom.

The Zulu Kingdom boasts over 600km of coastline, bathed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, which rarely drop below 17°C. This allows a multitude of water sports to be enjoyed all year round. Average temperatures vary between 28°C in summer and 23°C in winter, enabling visitors to enjoy the glorious outdoors all year round.


People:
Populated by an ethnically diverse people, KwaZulu-Natal is home to the proud Zulu Nation, who ruled this territory with prowess and skill, and whose cultural influence remains strong.
